Oregon Fossil
Hunting Guide

Rationale

I wanted this booklet to feel like a scientific field guide. When this was made, I had recently started going on geology field study trips, so I was close to the subject of fossil hunting. One of our trips was to find fossils in the sandstones at the beach side of Devil’s Punchbowl on the Oregon Coast. That particular trip inspired this project! I wanted to make the subject matter more interesting, fun, and inviting by making it whimsical and by the use of a limited color scheme and style of illustration. The size of my book was also very intentional. I picked a size that was easy to take on on-the-go situations, similar to a brochure.

I am open to constructive criticism! How could I make this pocket guide better?
I would love to hear your thoughts or comments.
